August Newsletter

August 13, 2019

Hello and welcome to the August edition of the Brighton Person-Centred Community news.

We will be meeting this Saturday 17th August and hope to see you there. See below for details.

BPCC Workshops

We're aware that it's been a while since the Community has put on any workshops. The organising people amongst us all have busy lives so this has fallen on the back burner regrettably. We are still hopeful that we can put something on at some point, but we also welcome any more volunteers with time and energy to put towards this. Even if you have an idea for one workshop and would be able to help make just this one happen that that would be great. Get in touch with us and we'll see how we can get it going.

Other Workshops

Introduction to Focusing - attend one day or whole weekend

Learn how to use Focusing for your own self care, self exploration and personal development. We will touch on use of Focusing in client work.

28th September, Crescent Practice, Brighton

Inviting the body into therapy - Introduction to using Focusing with clients

Explore how Focusing can enrich your work with clients. I hope to run this in Brighton in future, get in touch if interested.

19th October, Church House, Redhill

Your newsletter...

Do remember that you can share things via this newsletter. If there's anything you think would be of relevance to your Person Centred peers feel free to send it in to the email address at the bottom and we can include it here. You might have something you'd like to let us know or you might even have a question to ask and perhaps others reading this newsletter can help answer it...

Community Meetings

Community Meetings are held on the third Saturday at each month at the Friends Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton BN1 1AF.  We meet upstairs, usually in room 3, but the room number will be indicated on the whiteboard which is next to the Reception desk. Newcomers are always welcome, come along, say hi and see what it’s all about!

The next meeting at the Friends Meeting House is Saturday 17th August. The meeting runs from 9:30 to 12:30, but arrive a little earlier to give yourself time to prepare a drink. The cost is £5 to cover hire of room and tea, coffee and biscuits.

Social Media

We have an ever growing presence on Facebook and Twitter, so join us there, if you haven't already :) it's a great way to share updates on Community stuff and Counselling related articles.

If you see anything interesting that you'd like to share with the Community please feel free to post to our Facebook page, tweet us, or send by e-mail to and we'll share it for you.

If you're on Facebook why not 'like' our Brighton Person-Centred Community Facebook Page and join the other 160 plus people who enjoy our posts? Or if you prefer to Tweet our twitter following is now over 350 people!  Find us @BrightonPCC.

Right, that's all from us for now. If we don't see you at the forthcoming meeting you'll hear from us again next month with the latest from the community.

Best wishes
