Newsletter - Feb 2016
Welcome to the February edition of the Brighton Person-Centred Community newsletter... Workshops - spaces still available!
Our next workshop is on Sat 27th February on the topic of...
Supervision: are we effective? A facilitated discussion.
How do you get the most from your supervision? How do you get the most from your supervisees?
The day will help us consider how effective we are at supporting our supervisees development & practice.
We will consider:
ethical issues, including reference to the new BACP framework
helping supervisees develop their own understanding of the purpose and best use of supervision
supporting complex work
how we support work that we might not agree with
holding authority without being authoritative

Attending commmunity meetings via Seaford?
Community member Jefh Davies has been in touch and asked that the following message be passed on on his behalf to community members attending the next community meeting:
'I haven't managed to make it to the last few meetings because I've developed an unfortunate condition in my left foot which means I haven't been able to walk on it for the last three months (still can't walk on it) and I haven't yet found a way of getting from Seaford to Brighton that doesn't involve at least some walking. It's looking like it's going to take at least a year to sort my foot out, so I'm trying to find some way round the travel problem but meanwhile I'm a bit stuck. I just wanted to let people know that my absence hasn't been voluntary. I would still like very much to get to the meetings so I'll see what I can do about getting a lift to one soon.'
We wonder if there is anyone that intends on driving to a community meeting in the future who would be able and willing to drive via Seaford to pick up Jefh? If so, contact Jefh at firstname.lastname@example.org
Hope the foot heals as quickly as possible Jefh!
