Sussex Person-Centred Community
based in Brighton/Hove
The
group was formed in recognition of the fact that there were few
organized opportunities
locally for counsellors/therapists with an interest in the
person-centred approach to come together for contact and mutual
support. This perceived gap highlighted the need for a group where
sustained personal/professional contact was
made possible. For more than six years our community has been meeting
once a month on a Saturday morning.
It is an open group, available to anyone with a curiosity about the
Person-Centred Approach. We welcome newcomers whether they are still
in, or have completed their training. Meetings are unstructured and
develop accoring to what participants bring in terms of their needs,
interests and experiences.
We also organize themed workshops of a varying duration with nationally
and internationally respected facilitators.
As a group we are affiliated to BAPCA (British
Association of the Person-Centred Approach) and form part of the
national 'Local Groups' network.
